CPS Energy is owned by the City of San Antonio. We are the largest municipally-owned gas and electric utility in the United States. Fourteen percent of our gross revenues support over one-fourth of the City’s operating budget, providing financial resources for the delivery of basic services such as streets and infrastructure, public safety, parks and youth enrichment programs, and libraries.
Our customers pay the lowest electric bills in the country when compared to the 20 largest cities. We also have earned the highest financial ratings of any electric system in the nation. Every day, we strive to find new and innovative ways to maintain the affordable and reliable service we provide to our growing number of customers.
