CPS Energy Seeking Candidates to Fill Seat on Board of Trustees

Due to the expiration of the term of one of CPS Energy's trustees, candidates are now being sought to fill a position representing the southwest quadrant of the CPS Energy service territory. This quadrant includes the approximate area south of Ingram and Culebra Roads east to IH-35 and U.S. 281 (includes most of City Council Districts 4, 5 and 6). The term will begin February 1, 2009.

Applications must be submitted to CPS Energy by December 1, 2008. Applicants must be United States citizens, permanent residents of Bexar County, and must reside within the CPS Energy quadrant that they represent.

The five-member CPS Energy Board of Trustees includes a representative from each quadrant of the CPS Energy service territory (northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest), as well as the Mayor of the City of San Antonio. The Board meets regularly -- trustees may expect to serve approximately 10 - 20 hours per month with an annual stipend of $2,000. Board members serve for a term of five years and are eligible to serve an additional term.

Completed applications should be mailed to:

CPS Energy Mail Drop 101014
Attn: Board of Trustees
P.O. Box 1771
San Antonio, TX 78296-1771

All applications received will be forwarded to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees for review and provided to the City of San Antonio. Interviews will be scheduled with individuals selected by a Board Committee for further consideration. A nominee to fill the vacancy will be selected by a majority vote of the CPS Energy Board of Trustees and will be submitted to the San Antonio City Council for confirmation or rejection.
