Guidelines/Applying for a New Commercial Construction Incentive

New Commercial Construction Incentive Guidelines

Modeling software or approved calculation methodology used to verify code and program compliance should provide the energy and demand use for the building as designed, as well as a baseline, code-compliant building, and will be used to determine the energy savings and incentive amounts.  The supporting data from the modeling software must include data showing the calculation of kWh and peak kW savings achieved by the building.

Project incentives will be capped at 35% of the eligible project cost (which includes both design and construction costs), and may not exceed $250,000 per project.

How to Apply for the New Commercial Construction Incentive

To apply for a new commercial construction incentive, CPS Energy will require:

  • a copy of the results from the energy modeling software
  • a final certificate of occupancy and a letter from the architect of record certifying that the building is in compliance with the requirements of this program (Insert letter here).

CPS Energy reserves the right to inspect the building prior to finalizing incentive payment.
