CPS Energy is planning to rebuild an existing power line along Evers Rd. between our Bandera Rd. and Broadview Substations. The power line route will be about 2.1 miles long, starting at the existing Bandera Substation on Evers Rd. between Forest Leaf and Forest Meadow proceeding southeast along Evers ending at the intersection of Evers Rd. and Callaghan. The existing CPS Energy electric system must be upgraded to serve customers’ needs for reliable electric power. This project will improve the quality and safety of an aging transmission line and help ensure electrical reliability between the Bandera and Broadview Substations.
The project will involve a complete re-build of the power line including foundations, the line structures (poles) and electrical wires. CPS Energy plans to replace the power line along the same route as the existing power line. However, there will be a change in the type of structures. The existing lattice (webbed) structures will be replaced with solid poles with a similar size base. The project is scheduled to be completed January 2011.
As with most projects, construction activities will affect residents in different ways. Construction activities will be focused around the new and old pole locations and therefore property owners will be contacted individually by CPS Energy team members to discuss project impacts as they affect you.
Activities that may be typical to the entire construction route will be the presence of construction equipment and materials as well as temporary partial road closures while construction is in progress.
The Web site will include regular updates on the project as steps are completed. In addition, you may call or write to:
