Mission Road Power Plant - Location

MRPP location

The Mission Road Power Plant is located on the near south side, less than two miles from downtown, and is situated in the midst of an economic redevelopment and civic improvement package that has been unmatched in more than a century. New hike and bike trails flank the property, as well as San Antonio River Authority’s South Reach improvements, making the location ideal for development.

The site of the Mission Road Power Plant is located along the southern-most edge of what San Antonians refer to as the “Urban Loop”. The Urban Loop encompasses all the land bounded by Interstate 35 on the North and West, Interstate 37/US 281 on the East, and Interstate 10 on the South. The site is considered part of the downtown and is only 1.5 miles from the Alamo, River Walk and the Tower of the Americas.

Directly adjacent to the Mission Road Power Plant site is an established neighborhood called Roosevelt Park, as well as a park to the north by the same name. To the west is a CPS Energy service yard and to the south, a green space buffer by the train tracks and Highway 90.
