TCC-SWRI Transmission Line Project

CPS Energy is planning to construct a new electric transmission line in Bexar County to improve reliability and to meet growing needs for electric power. The proposed project will consist of a new 138-Kilovolt (kV) transmission line from the existing TCC Substation to the existing SWRI Substation.

The single-circuit transmission line will be approximately 2 miles long and will occupy a right-of-way approximately 100 feet in width. The new transmission line is needed for power system reliability and rapid load growth.  Construction of the line is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2011 and will be complete by June 2012.
