Air Flow Performance Rebate - Duct Repairs and Replacement
The following measures for duct repair and duct replacement must be followed to participate in CPS Energy's Air Flow Performance Rebate Program:
Duct repair and duct replacement - rebate of 25% of the cost, up to $2,500.
Applicable to measures in existing homes only which require the repair and replacement of ducts.
Must have duct testing done to show energy efficiency improvements of system.
Valid only if repairs are needed and completed by one of CPS Energy’s registered contractors. Air conditioner contractors must be registered with CPS Energy to participate in the Air Flow Performance Program and must hold current certification in blower door testing, duct blaster testing or National Comfort Institute (NCI) HVAC air diagnostics and balancing.
Duct repairs and duct replacement only applicable to ducts in unconditioned spaces.
Funding for this program is limited to funds availability.
The measure must be installed in a home served by CPS Energy between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
The completed application form, together with the itemized receipt detailing the work completed, must be received by December 31, 2012 to be eligible.
CPS Energy reserves the right to make changes to the program without notice.
Applications must be received within 30 days of completion of projects.
CPS Energy reserves the right to inspect all projects. The customer may lose the incentive if CPS Energy cannot verify the information provided on the application form. Square footage measurements will be verified against Bexar County property tax records.
To qualify for rebate:
Pretesting must show 25% or more leakage in the duct system.
Post-testing of the repairs and/or replacement must show 6% or less leakage in the duct system.
All testing must be performed by a CPS Energy registered contractor under the Air Flow Performance Rebate Program.
