The attic is often where you can find the biggest air leaks in your home. These leaks can disrupt the effectiveness of your cooling system, making your home feel sticky during the summer or chilly come winter. Whether you're warm or cold, air leaks also can lead to an unnecessary increase in your energy bill. By adding the proper amount of insulation to your attic, you can stay comfortable while using less energy. Attics also are the easiest place to add insulation in your home.
CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.25 per square foot of attic insulation installed, whether the insulation material is fiberglass, cellulose, spray foam or other (see Dept. of Energy website). The rebate amount is based on the amount of insulation actually installed over conditioned space. See our Attic Insulation Guidelines for more information.
This rebate is not available for new construction projects and only applies to home improvement or retrofit projects. New construction projects are eligible for our New Construction, Solar Photovoltaic or Solar Water Heater Rebate programs.
Note: Radiant barrier foils, sprays and coating do not qualify for a CPS Energy rebate.
Rebates will not be granted if work violates local or state requirements or is not completed by a qualified contractor. Learn how to find the right home improvement contractor. Residential rebates may be subject to inspection and verification by an authorized representative of CPS Energy.
