Now may be the time to make that investment in solar energy for your home or business. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, or solar electric systems, are reliable, environmentally friendly, and are becoming more affordable every day.
Solar PV Systems work best in energy-efficient homes and buildings. The Department of Energy recommends adding energy-efficient lighting, insulation, appliances and windows to reduce your home or facility’s electric use before you install a PV system. And taking advantage of a CPS Energy rebate and federal tax credits can further enhance the economics of solar power.
The CPS Energy Solar Initiative Rebate program is offering an incentive of$3.00 per AC watt based on the calculated expected performance of the system that is less than 100 kW. For systems larger than 100 kW, contact CPS Energy. Solar projects are rebated up to 50% of the total project cost up to $30,000 in residential and $100,000 in commercial installations.
Applications and pre-inspections must be completed and approved prior to installation of the photovoltaic (PV) system. Post-inspections are required on all installations prior to the issuance of the rebate. Failure to follow these or other requirements listed in the Interconnection & Net metering documents may render the system ineligible for the incentive.
