When demand for electricity is at its highest, especially during the hot summer months, CPS Energy’s Peak Saver thermostats help participants save electricity and lower their bills.

Through our Peak Saver thermostats, participants agree to let CPS Energy remotely access their central air conditioners to cycle compressors off for short periods of time (approximately ten minutes each half-hour) between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, from May through September. Peak Savers help us manage the community’s peak electric demand, while the temperature increase inside your home is generally no more than 2 degrees.

Our Peak Saver Program offers households a FREE Honeywell programmable thermostat ($200+ value), installed at no charge. Even better, you can save 10 percent or more on your heating and cooling costs by programming the Peak Saver thermostat to adjust your home’s temperature at night or when you're not home. You also can change the settings on your Peak Saver thermostat up to four times a month from anywhere via the Internet.

Due to high customer demand, you may occasionally experience difficulty signing up for Peak Saver phone lines.
