The addition of an attic radiant barrier can help you save 8-12 percent on your annual air-conditioning costs.
CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.10 per square foot of accessible attic space up to a maximum of 20% of the total cost on Radiant Barrier. Acceptable materials provide maximum reflection of thermal radiation and heat resistance, including paint coatings, aluminum foils and thermal shields specifically designed for use in buildings and homes as attic radiant barriers.
Rebate Guidelines
Radiant Barrier: $0.10 per square foot of accessible attic space up to a maximum of 20% of the total cost.
Retrofits only.
Attach an itemized and dated invoice from the contractor or retailer (include radiant barrier manufacturer, type and square feet) along with your application form.
Funding for this program is limited to funds availability.
The measure must be installed in a home served by CPS Energy between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.
The completed application form, together with the itemized receipt detailing the work completed and efficiency measurements must be received by December 31, 2008 to be eligible.
CPS Energy reserves the right to make changes to the program without notice.
Applications must be received within 30 days of completion of projects.
CPS Energy reserves the right to inspect all projects. The customer may lose the incentive if CPS Energy cannot verify the information provided on the application form. Square footage measurements will be verified against Bexar County property tax records.
Maximum rebate per customer is $2,500 total for all rebates excluding air conditioning, CFL, and Mow Down Smog.
