Certain measures in the construction of new homes, such as foam insulation and building using insulating concrete forms, may result in energy savings and reduce the amount of air conditioning required in a home.
CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.50 per square feet of conditioned floor space in a new home constructed and completed in 2008.
Rebate Guidelines
Rebate of $0.50 per square foot of the floor area of the home.
Spray-foam insulation must cover all attic spaces and exterior walls in the home. Rebate is based on the square footage of the floor area of the home for conditioned spaces in the home. (Does not apply to garages, storage rooms etc. that are not air conditioned.)
Applicable only for new home construction.
Wall insulation must be installed between conditioned and unconditioned areas to qualify.
Final insulation must be at least R-30 in attic or greater, and R-13 in exterior walls or greater.
Square footage measurements will be verified against Bexar County property tax records showing floor plan of home.
Attach an itemized and dated invoice from the contractor or retailer (include insulation manufacturer, type and square feet) along with your application form.
Funding for this program is limited.
The measure must be installed in a home served by CPS Energy between January 1, 2008 and November 30, 2008.
The completed application form, together with the itemized receipt detailing the work completed, must be received by December 28, 2008 to be eligible.
CPS Energy reserves the right to make changes to the program without notice.
