Wall Insulation Rebates

Unless your home was specially constructed for energy efficiency, you can usually reduce your energy bills by adding more insulation? By adding insulation in your walls, you can increase the comfort of your home, while lowering your energy costs.

CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.15 per square foot of treated wall area.

Rebate Guidelines

Rebate of $0.15 per square foot of treated wall area. (Gross wall area less window and door area.) Rebate is based on the amount of insulation actually installed.
Applicable only for retrofits.
Wall insulation must be installed between conditioned and unconditioned areas to qualify.
Final insulation must be at least R-13.
There must be no existing wall insulation.
The current insulation level of each home will be determined and documented by the insulation installer. Square footage measurements will be verified against Bexar County property tax records.
All materials must be new.
Garages and other non-living areas do not qualify.
Attach an itemized and dated invoice from the contractor or retailer (include insulation manufacturer, type and square feet) along with your application form.
Funding for this program is limited to funds availability.
The measure must be installed in a home served by CPS Energy between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008.
The completed application form, together with the itemized receipt detailing the work completed, must be received by December 31, 2008 to be eligible.
CPS Energy reserves the right to make changes to the program without notice.
Applications must be received within 30 days of completion of projects.
CPS Energy reserves the right to inspect all projects. The customer may lose the incentive if CPS Energy cannot verify the information provided on the application form.
Maximum rebate per customer is $2,500 total for all rebates excluding air conditioning, CFL, and Mow Down Smog.
