Spray Foam Insulation Rebates
|
Certain measures in the construction of new homes, such as foam insulation and building using insulating concrete forms, may result in energy savings and reduce the amount of air conditioning required in a home. Foam insulation, unlike fiberglass insulation, requires a professional to spray or pump foam into walls and ceilings to keep heat inside during the cold months and the hot air outside when it's warm. Spray foam insulation may be more expensive to install, but it usually fills more cracks, crevices and other areas where air leaks may occur. It also tends to last longer than fiberglass insulation.
CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.50 per square feet of the floor plan of the conditioned areas of a home for new, constructed homes or for existing homes if both the attic and walls are insulated at the same time. A rebate of $0.25 per square feet of attic floor space under conditioned areas of the home is offered if only the attic is sprayed.
