Window Solar Screens and Film Rebates

Unobstructed east and west windows can contribute to heat gain in your home during the day. Solar screens and film on these windows can effectively reduce this heat.

Solar screens may be the best window treatments you can apply to your home to reduce heat transfer and lower your energy bills. Solar screens reflect, absorb and decrease the sun's heat before it strikes the glass, essentially providing shade for your window. Solar screens can block up to 70 percent of the sun's heat, reducing cooling costs and protecting home furnishings and carpeting from fading. Reflective film, which adheres to glass, may be more practical for larger windows that cannot be covered by a solar screen. Film is often used on commercial buildings and can block up to 85 percent of incoming sunlight while protecting interior features as well.

CPS Energy is offering a rebate of $0.30 per square foot installed for solar screens and film.
