Outage Map - Frequently Asked Questions
Providing reliable power is a priority for CPS Energy. However, sometimes there are circumstances beyond our control when you will lose power. This Outage Map tool was created to help you monitor and track outages -- helping you plan around this situation. Some of the features you can take advantage of include:
- Access to the latest outage information, 24/7
- Summary Map view for service area or by zip code
- Outage-specific estimates of power restoration when available
The Outage Map provides customers with a web-based, inside view of what CPS Energy System Operators use to manage and restore outages and electric trouble in the CPS Energy service territory. This data is extracted from our Outage Management System and cannot be modified by viewers.
Viewers will be able to clink on a link to see a static map with color notations of current outages in the service territory. Users also can filter the view and see outages by zip codes. High-level outage statistics are provided including number of customers out and estimated restoration time.
This data is extracted from the Outage Management System every 10 minutes and is view only.
Click the refresh button to open the map in full-page view.
Click the zoom (+) icon in the upper left corner of the map, and then use the mouse to drag right, left, up or down to navigate to the specific location you want to view. You can also click on “Aerial” to see aerial maps or “Road” to return to view major roads.
For customer security, the Outage Map does not display outage views for a specific street address and is limited to a 3-mile zoom in radius. In addition, it does not show individual customer outage information or any detail customer information.
If you drill down by zip code, you will see a red pushpin symbol that represents the center of the zip code area or polygon. It does not represent any outage information and is standard functionality for web-based applications on the Internet.
