With our Energy Angels Gift of Energy program, you can brighten someone’s day by making a payment toward the energy bill of a friend, loved one or neighbor.  It’s convenient, thoughtful and sure to warm their hearts!

During challenging times or just as a practical gift, a gift of energy is something you can give any time, for any occasion. You can pay for any amount of a customer’s bill and give to a CPS Energy customer of your choice. It’s great for anyone facing financial hardships, parents, a loved one on a fixed income or just a practical gift for a friend or neighbor.

A Gift of Energy given through our Energy Angels program is not tax deductible. If you are looking for a way to make a donation towards a general need in energy bill assistance, we invite you to contribute to our Residential Energy Assistance Partnership (REAP) program. You can easily add a few dollars to your utility payment and indicate that amount on your bill stub or make a donation online. Learn more here.

What is a Gift of Energy?

Who should I give a Gift of Energy to?
You can give any amount to any CPS Energy customer you choose. It's a great gift for anyone facing financial hardship, college kids living on their own, a thoughtful gift for those on a fixed budget or just a practical gift for a friend or neighbor.

How does it work?
Your Gift of Energy will appear on a future bill as a credit to the recipient's account. When you make this gift, we'll provide you with a payment confirmation number. Our customer will see the payment on their next energy bill. If you want, you can notify them of your gift or choose to remain anonymous.

What information do I need to participate?
All you need to participate is the customer’s name and two of the following items:

  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • CPS Energy Account Number

How much information will you share with me about the account?
For privacy reasons, we cannot share specific account information with anyone who is not the account owner. We can share the total amount due if you are able to provide the required items listed above.

How do I participate?
The process is quick and easy and there are two ways to participate:

Do I have to be a CPS Energy Customer to participate?
You do not have to be a CPS Energy customer to give a Gift of Energy.

What if I want to give a gift of energy but do not have a specific customer in mind?

Is there a fee to give a Gift of Energy?
There is a small processing fee of $2.35 associated with debit and credit card payments made over the phone or online. No additional fees apply.

What do I do if I receive the Gift of Energy?
Someone thoughtful wanted to give you the most practical gift of all! If you receive the Gift of Energy, a credit will automatically appear on your next energy bill. Nothing more to do.

Can you tell me which CPS Energy Angel gave me a Gift of Energy?
If the giver provides us their name, we will note that on the customer’s account. But they may choose to remain anonymous or make the payment directly online or on the IVR, and we won’t be able to see that information easily.
