COMMITMENT TO RELIABLE SERVICE

As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver reliable gas and electric service, we routinely evaluate our systems and perform maintenance as needed. It is our goal to inform customers near construction zones prior to beginning any work and maintain up-to-date information on our website.

 

SCOPE OF PROJECT

In early 2017, a non-CPS Energy contractor installing telecommunications fiber damaged a twelve-inch natural gas line at the southwest corner of the Blanco Road and Bitters Road intersection. Our crews identified the location of the damage, ensured the site was safe, and made interim repairs. Permanent repairs needed to be made.

During hours of active construction (7pm – 5am, Sunday through Thursday), two southbound lanes of Blanco Road must be shut down south of the Blanco/Bitters intersection along with two eastbound lanes of Bitters Road west of the intersection. The left turn lane of Bitters Road east of the intersection must also be shut down during hours of active construction. The lane closures shall be reduced to one closed southbound lane of Blanco Road and one closed eastbound lane of Bitters Road while our crews are not actively working at the site.

 

ESTIMATED TIMELINE

The project is expected to begin as early as Monday, April 24, 2017 and to be completed by Friday, May 5, 2017.
