GrillsGiving - A Celebration of Meat & Music

BBQ cook-off, live music at Mission County Park

Before you begin indulging in all of the turkey day fixins’ this year, make a preliminary pilgrimage to CPS Energy’s 4th annual GrillsGiving on Saturday, Nov. 17. Forgo the fat ol’ bird for a few days. Instead, prepare your paunch by savoring samples of brisket, chicken and ribs made by more than two dozen promising pitmaster teams.

This unique, family-friendly event in Mission County Park along the San Antonio River offers a festival-like atmosphere, including a searing barbecue cook-off, live music, kid activities and free parking! Net proceeds benefit the REAP (Residential Energy Assistance Partnership) fund.

REAP was established in 2002 through a partnership between CPS Energy, Bexar County and the City of San Antonio. The program provides financial assistance to help the elderly, medically dependent and low-income families with young children with their utility bill. CPS Energy commits up to $1 million annually toward REAP, which provides direct customer assistance.  REAP is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity.
