Upcoming Road Closures

To maintain the overall health of our infrastructure and utility system, we occasionally close roads to perform upgrades, maintenance, and replacements. The road closures listed below are scheduled; however, on occasion, we are required to close roads for unscheduled repairs to our equipment.

  • Time: 7:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
  • Location: Hwy 90 and S Zarzamora St
  • Zip Code: 78207
  • Scope of Work: CPS Energy contractors and their crews will be transferring overhead primary wire crossing on Hwy 90 and S Zarzamora St.
  • Traffic Control and Notifications: Alamo City Public Safety traffic control will be providing traffic control on the North and South bound side Hwy 90 with 4 rolling traffic stops lasting up to 15 minutes, uniformed officers will be directing traffic.
  • Outages: There will not be any outages for the duration of the crossing. 
  • TxDOT has approved the request.

  • Zip Code: 78112
  • Scope of Work: CPS Energy contractors and their crews will be installing overhead primary wire crossing on Highway S Loop 1604 E of IH 37.
  • Traffic Control and Notifications: Blue Shield traffic control will be providing traffic control on the North and South bound side S Loop 1604 with 5 rolling traffic stops lasting up to 15 minutes, uniformed officers will be directing traffic.
  • Outages: There will not be any outages for the duration of the crossing. 
  • TxDOT has approved the request.

Service Reliability

We are undertaking Service Reliability Conversion Projects to convert our existing overhead electric lines to underground lines for improved electric service reliability. We are undertaking these projects because underground electric lines are generally less susceptible than overhead lines to damage and/or service interruptions due to storms, vehicles, trees, and animals.

These enhancements to our infrastructure are meant to significantly improve the electric service we provide in neighborhoods throughout our service area. Find project-specific information here.  

Planned Outages

Our community continues to grow. As it does, we're enhancing and adding new infrastructure as well as updating and improving current infrastructures. This helps ensure safe, reliable gas and electric service for existing and future customers.  

During infrastructure projects, you may experience temporary power outages that are necessary for our field crews to perform their work safely. We will notify you by phone at least one to two business days before any planned outage to inform you of the outage start time and approximate duration.
