A variety of issues can cause a problem with your electrical service − what we call “a voltage disturbance.”

Here are the typical challenges CPS Energy must manage to keep your electric power up and running:

  • Transmission line problem caused by animals, weather, unforeseen equipment failure
  • Voltage disturbance on one distribution line affects an adjacent distribution line
  • Substation circuit breaker opens and closes momentarily
  • Severe weather
  • Equipment failure or tree damage to conductor wires
  • A vehicle hits distribution poles
  • In addition, heavy equipment, appliances and other issues can cause an electrical failure in a home or business
